Each SPARK PATH leads to Sensational Change!

  • The Spark Path Evaluation identifies your child's strengths, challenges, and family-centered goals

  • Next, we focus on your child's factors that may be causing them difficulties such as:

    • motor (movement and strength),

    • sensory (what they perceive and how they process it) and

    • cognitive/executive function (how they think, learn, and organize information).

  • Finally, we offer an individualized therapeutic intervention plan that helps your child (and your family) reach the personalized goals that you set!

  • We focus on outcomes and getting results so you should see meaningful differences within just a few weeks!

OUR SERVICES

AYERS SENSORY INTEGRATION (ASI) AND SENSORY PROCESSING INTERVENTIONS

For children and youth from birth to age 21!

Spark Path Therapy LLC is proud to offer a unique approach to help children with sensory-based behaviors such as:

  • Clumsiness

  • Incoordination

  • Shyness/Avoiding Others

  • Meltdowns/Tantrums

  • Developmental Delays

  • Delays in Reading and Writing

  • Sensory Avoiding (Fearful, Resists Movement or Activities)

  • Sensory Seeking (Poor safety awareness, daredevil, always moving)

  • Avoiding certain clothing, foods, or textures

  • Defensive to sudden or loud noises (or maybe even low noises that seem loud)

  • Unexplained Frustration and Lack of Ability to Engage with Peers

There is so much complexity in the way our brains process and use information. If there is a "difference" in how your child processes sensory information, it can show up in literally thousands of ways. However, as a certified ASI provider, we can tease out those differences and help you and your child make sense of the world and their own body!

MOTOR LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

Learn to Move and Move to Learn

Ever wish your child was more coordinated? Does your child try hard but struggle with (or perhaps avoid) games and sports? Does something not "seem right" with your child's movement patterns such as walking (odd pattern), sitting (slumps, leans, holds head up with hands), or even crawling? Spark Path Therapy LLC is dedicated to addressing motor development and coordination. We use the principles of motor learning theory to help your child LEARN to MOVE and MOVE to LEARN. If your child has a motor delay, we can find it and treat it.  The best part is, the therapy is based on your child's interests and looks like play. They will love it and you will be amazed at the results you see.

VISUAL PERCEPTUAL AND OCULOMOTOR SKILLS (SENSORY AND MOTOR SKILLS FOR THE EYES)

Visual Interventions are appropriate for children ages infant to 21.

So many skills require fluid movements of the eyes (Oculomotor). This is important in reading, focusing on a task near (writing) alternating with far (instructor) or somewhere in between. Even infants track people and objects with their eyes. This skill (or lack of it) is even more complex when our eyes and hands work together (visual-motor integration). This includes reading, writing, tracking a ball someone throws to you, or hitting a target. Poor visual processing/visual motor skills can also induce headaches, fatigue, and avoidance of activities such as reading, writing, coloring, creating structures from building blocks, and even movement games. Occupational therapists are uniquely qualified to address these deficits. For many children, underlying issues with balance and coordination affect the eyes. Let us help you find the root of your child's problem by performing a comprehensive occupational therapy evaluation!

Hope

When I first sought out OT for Liam, I was nervous that it would be another dead end. But when I met Angela, I knew it would be different. She took the time and listened to my concerns, understood what we were going through. Once she started working with Liam, I saw such big improvements! Angela was able to give us tools to help cope with things that everyone else said we just had to "deal with", or he would "grow out of". I am eternally grateful for Angela and all of the help she gave Liam and our family!
